Review of the film "The Girl from the water"
M. Night Shayamalan has prepared another surprise for the public. The essence of it is that there is no surprise in the film. And this is a real surprise. The director managed to show the path of one person to the light, but he was partially defeated in another. The next logical step was to show how the light found in itself unites people, but then there was a glitch. Very different, unfamiliar and not always pleasant to each other residents of the house suddenly unite and begin to act together, but what could have prompted them to do this? That they were told an oriental legend? Or the big eyes of a wild girl, the reaction to which most of them should have been much more prosaic? As soon as the tape ceases to be just a story of Mr. Hip, it turns from a fairy tale rooted in reality into an ordinary fairy tale, starting to cause laughter from time to time.
The last remark concerns the funniest aspect of the picture related to the film critic character. The fact that Shayamalan is so concerned about how critics react to his tapes (not always positively) is so much that he specifically introduced such a character. He at least speaks honestly about his attitude towards this breed, showing an arrogant "talker" with glasses who knows everything but doesn't really know anything.
